Crystal Endeavor will offer one U.S. sailing in fall

Crystal Expedition Cruises’ first ship, the recently launched Crystal Endeavor, will offer one cruise from the U.S. this fall, a nine-day Caribbean sailing from Miami. 

Crystal called the trip a rare opportunity for U.S. travelers to embark the 200-passenger ship from a close-to-home port during its inaugural season.

The new itinerary will sail from Miami to San Juan from Oct. 25 to Nov. 3, calling on Great Exuma and Man of War Bay, Inagua, Bahamas; White Bay and Great Harbor (overnight) on Jost Van Dyke, and Norman Island in the British Virgin Islands; Gustavia, St. Barts; and the Dutch island of Saba; concluding in San Juan.

Jack Anderson, president of Crystal, said that because of the ship’s size it would be able to visit destinations like Great Inagua, which has no natural harbor, so large cruise ships can’t call there. 

“Visiting these special places is a privilege we undertake with great responsibility, and Crystal Endeavor has been designed with eco-friendly features, including dynamic positioning that enables her to remain in place using GPS and thrusters rather than dropping anchor to protect delicate ocean reefs,” he said. 

The Endeavor launched in July and is currently offering 10-day circumnavigations of Iceland. The all-balcony, all-butler service Endeavor is the ninth ship in the Crystal’s worldwide fleet and the first for its Crystal Expedition brand. 

Onboard features include Japanese restaurant Umi Uma; Italian restaurant Prego; the only casino on an expedition yacht; a glass-covered, two-story solarium with a pool and Jacuzzi; a full-service salon and spa; and a wrap-around Promenade Deck. Expedition amenities include enrichment areas, mud rooms, a Helicopter Lounge, Zodiacs, kayaks, snorkel gear, a six-guest submersible and two helicopters in select regions of the world.
