Margaritaville at Sea will do a multimillion-dollar ship upgrade
Margaritaville at Sea will add a Cheeseburger in Paradise burger bar, a pickleball court and two new production shows to its ship. The improvements are part of a multimillion-dollar upgrade expected to debut on June 2.
The line’s sole ship, Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, will also get a new dueling piano bar experience, video arcade and updated cabins. The line will expand its excursion offerings in Grand Bahama and add another cruise-and-stay option, too.
“We’ve been listening to our friends and fans and have invested in the kinds of new offerings passengers said will best enhance their sailing experience,” said Kevin Sheehan, Jr., CEO of Margaritaville at Sea.
The brand partnered with the Pelican Bay Resort to give guests a third cruise-and-stay option on Grand Bahama Island, where new shore excursions include the Ultimate Party Boat and Snorkeling Experience and a Grand Bahama Cycling Adventure.
Onboard, there will be two new shows: “Caribbean Heat,” featuring music, dance, and acrobatics during a “musical trip around the islands of the Caribbean,” and “Radio Margaritaville: LIVE! At Sea,” named after the Sirius XM station. The show will feature live bands, artists and “musical storytelling.”
The new Keys on the Water Dueling Piano Bar will feature two piano players offering nightly entertainment in a craft-cocktail venue. The ship’s Hemisphere Nightclub will be refreshed with a new cocktail menu, bottle service, a live DJ, and an updated venue on the ship’s highest deck.
The Cheeseburger in Paradise Burger Bar, which will carry no extra charge, will be added to the 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill. The ship’s main dining room, Fins Dining, will have a revamped and expanded menu featuring island-inspired dishes and a new selection of drinks and desserts, including Margaritaville at Sea’s original Key Lime Sponge Cake.
Other changes include a renovation for the Fins Up! Fitness Center, including adding Touch Smart Fitness Mirrors. Suite Cabins will now be equipped with mirror equipment for an in-cabin fitness experience, as part of an overall refresh and update to all of the ship’s 658 cabins.
The forward deck will be home to a regulation pickleball court with an outdoor lounge space.
Kids can now enjoy video games at the new Fin City Arcade while the Jolly Mon Kid’s Club (ages 3-6) and Parakeets Kid’s Club (ages 7-12) were both completely upgraded, Margaritaville said.
