Norwegian Cruise Line plans longer sailings, more port days in 2024-25
Norwegian Cruise Line says it will offer longer sailings, more port days and fewer sea days in winter 2024 and 2025 and summer 2025.
The longer cruises will be offered on European, Caribbean and Alaskan itineraries.
The move for longer itineraries comes as NCL works to position itself on the upper edge of the contemporary market with its release of the Prima class of ships.
Here’s a look at cruises the line has planned for 2024-25.
The Norwegian Viva, scheduled to debut next August as the second in the Prima class, will homeport in San Juan from December 2024 to April 2025. The Viva will sail seven-day, roundtrip Southern Caribbean itineraries
with no sea days, cruises that will include calls at Castries, St.
Lucia, and Bridgetown, Barbados. Select itineraries will call at the
Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. Beginning in May 2025, the Viva will sail nine- to 11-day, open-jaw sailings from through November. The ship will call in Haifa, Israel; Athens; and Istanbul. The Viva will also offer 15-hour port stays in Jerusalem.
The Norwegian Prima will sail roundtrip, 10- to 12-day sailings from New York to the
Caribbean beginning in November of 2024 and concluding the following
March. In 2015, it will sail 10- and 11-day, open-jaw cruises from London and Reykjavik, Iceland. Itineraries will call in Geiranger, Alesund, Flam and Bergen, Norway; Brussels/Bruges, Belgium; Akureyri, Isafjordur, Iceland; and Amsterdam.
From April to October 2025, the Norwegian Breakaway will sail nine- and 10-day, roundtrip sailings in the Mediterranean from Barcelona, with an overnight call in Florence/Pisa, Italy. The itineraries also call to Ibiza, Spain; Cagliari, Naples and Rome, Italy; and Cannes, France.
The Norwegian Escape will sail seven- and 14-day Caribbean sailings from December 2024 through March 2025 out of Galveston, Texas. The ship will sail seven-day Western Caribbean itineraries calling to Costa Maya and Cozumelin Mexico; Roatan, Honduras; and Harvest Caye, NCL’s resort-style destination in southern Belize. The ship also will offer a 14-day Eastern Caribbean voyage.
The Norwegian Encore will sail a 21-day cruise from Seattle to Miami in October 2024. The ship will call in San Francisco and Los Angeles; Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco, Mexico; Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala; Panama City; Cartagena, Colombia; and George Town, Grand Cayman.
In Alaska, the Norwegian Joy will offer nine- and 10-day roundtrip sailings from Seattle in 2025, from late April through October. The ship will call at Glacier Bay National Park and Reserve and Hubbard Glacier. Some itineraries will call also call in Icy Strait Point and Ketchikan.
