Oceania and Regent Seven Seas drop mask mandate

Masks will no longer be required aboard Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises beginning March 1.  

As with sister brand Norwegian Cruise Line, guests will no longer be required to undergo Covid-19 testing at the pier before boarding, although they will still be required to show proof of a negative Covid test taken by a verified third party, said Oceania spokesman Tim Rubacky. 

Negative tests must be taken within two days of boarding at a U.S. port or within three days of boarding at a non-U.S. port, pending local travel restrictions, said Rubacky.

“Protocols for non-U.S. embarkations may vary as some destinations will require pier-side testing, and if that is the case, we will continue to provide it,” said Rubacky.

The move brings all three brands under Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings following the same Covid protocols. Norwegian Cruise Line announced its change in policy on Tuesday. 

While the three brands follow the same Covid-19 policies, only NCL is loosening its 100% vaccination mandate by allowing unvaccinated children under 5 years old to sail.
