Previewing the nightlife venues on Royal Caribbean's upcoming Icon

Royal Caribbean International’sIcon of the Seas will set sail with more than 15 bars and nightlife experiences, some new and some returning favorites, when it makes its debut in January.

Dueling Pianos, the brand’s first dueling piano bar, will be located in the Royal Promenade. Two pianists will take crowd requests.

Lou’s Jazz ‘n Blues will be located in Central Park and feature live performances of classics and jazz pop. 

Rye & Bean will be located in the AquaDome. There, guests can get everything from a cup of coffee to espresso cocktails. It offers ocean and AquaTheater views.

Bubbles, a walk-up Champagne window, will be located in Central Park. It will offer mimosas, prosecco, Bellinis and bottles of Champagne.

The Overlook and the Overlook Pods are, respectively, a lounge and “first-of-their-kind nooks at sea,” Royal Caribbean said. They will be located just a few steps away from shows in the AquaDome. Inside the pods, guests will be invited to enjoy drinks, live music and play classic boardgames.

New spot 1400 Lobby Bar was inspired by the history of shipbuilding. Mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim is behind its cocktail menu. Located in the Royal Promenade, the 1400 Lobby Bar will have an ocean-facing terrace.

Icon of the Seas will also be home to several favorite spots. 

The Attic, inspired by New York comedy clubs, will host live shows for adults. Music Hall will be home to the ship’s house tribute band. Trellis Bar in Central Park will return, albeit larger, and with a new look and menu. Latin club Boleros and the Schooner Bar will also have a home on the Icon.

English pub Point & Feather, on the Royal Promenade, will return with a new open layout. Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade will have dozens of screens as well as arcade and tabletop games. Spotlight Karaoke will return, with a stage in front of the crowd and private rooms.

Icon of the Seas, the first of Royal’s Icon-class ships, will hold 5,610 passengers. It will sail seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Miami.
