Princess increases value proposition for Plus and Premier packages
Princess Cruises has created more value for guests who buy its Plus and Premier packages while no longer offering some amenities for free to guests who buy the standard fare.
Beginning Aug. 12, several casual restaurants that currently offer a la carte dining will offer three-course meals that are complimentary for guests who have purchased the line’s Plus and Premium packages. Guests who have not purchased either package will be charged $14.99 for the prix fixe menu.
The restaurants offering the three-course menus are Vines, Salty Dog Pub, O’Malleys, Ocean Terrace, Planks, Steamers, Alfredo’s and Gigi’s.
The Alfredo’s and Gigi’s pizzerias are currently complimentary for all guests but will transition to the prix fixe menus.
The main dining rooms, World Fresh Market and Horizons Court buffets, the International Café, poolside eats at Slice, Coffee & Cones, and a traditional stateroom breakfast ordered from the in-room hang tag will continue to be complimentary.
Changes for food and drink delivery
Also, the location-based food and drink delivery service on the MedallionClass app will be included in Plus and Premier packages, but the service will no longer be free for every passenger. Starting Aug. 2, guests who don’t buy the Plus and Premier packages will have to pay a one-time $14.99 charge to use the MedallionClass delivery service.
Also, Princess will waive the $5 delivery charge for room service for guests buying the Plus and Premier packages, beginning Aug. 2.
Guests wanting a speedy embarkation process, called “Green Line Status,” need to arrive at the terminal with their travel information complete and a Princess Medallion location device in hand. To do that, guests can have the Medallion delivered to their home for a $10 shipping fee, which will be waived for Plus and Premier package guests beginning Aug. 2.
The Plus package is $60 per guest per day on a seven-day cruise. The Premier package is $80 per day. The packages include WiFi, a beverage plan, crew gratuities, premium desserts and fitness classes among other things.
