Princess to offer cruises with a colonial-themed itinerary

Princess Cruises will sail a new series of roundtrip cruises focused on U.S. colonial history in the summer of 2024.

The roundtrip sailings out of New York include visits to colonial towns ahead of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, which began in 1775. The itineraries feature calls in Yorktown, Va.; Charleston, S.C.; and Boston as well as Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Princess says it is the first major cruise line to call in Yorktown, the site of the final battle of the American Revolution. Nearby are Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown, which also have historical significance in America’s early history.
The line will sail three 10- and 11-day Colonial Heritage itineraries in June 2024. The sailings are open for booking on May 25, 2023.

Princess will also offer a seven-night land tour for guests to visit the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C., Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello estate, Colonial Williamsburg, Independence Hall in Philadelphia and the Gettysburg Battlefield.

In another first for the cruise line, Princess is adding three Greenland ports to its Canada/New England sailing on the Enchanted Princess. The line will offer a 17-day itinerary on Aug. 11 that sails roundtrip out of Boston with calls including Nuuk, Qaqortoq and Nanortalik in Greenland along with calls in Newfoundland.
