Riviera River Cruises releases its 2022 holiday sailing schedule

Riviera River Cruises is looking ahead to the 2022 holidays with 20 festive departures across six seasonal itineraries.

Next December, five-day cruises will visit the Christmas or “yuletide” markets of Germany on the Enchanting Rhine & Yuletide Markets to Bonn, Rudesheim, Koblenz, and Cologne. The six-day Danube’s Imperial Cities & Yuletide Markets cruise will take Riviera guests to Budapest, Vienna and Bratislava, Slovakia.

Guests looking to sail over the 2022 Christmas holiday with Riviera have a few options. Christmas on the Rhine is a seven-night sailing that departs Dec. 21, 2022, roundtrip from Cologne. Christmas on the Blue Danube departs on Dec. 22 roundtrip from Budapest, and includes a tour of Salzburg, Austria, where “The Sound of Music” was filmed. Both itineraries include a Christmas gala dinner, and an onboard folklore show and classical music concert.

And for ringing in 2023, guests can book one of two five-night New Year itineraries, either on the Rhine or the Danube. The ship the Oscar Wilde departs Cologne on Dec. 28, 2022 and the William Wordsworth departs the following day from Budapest. Both sailings include a gala dinner on New Year’s Eve with midnight cocktails and canapes, a special New Year’s brunch and a classical music and folklore show, as well.

“We offer a wonderful variety of festive cruises for the holidays to help guests celebrate before, during and after Christmas,” said Marilyn Conroy, Riviera River Cruises’ executive vice president of sales and marketing for North America.”

Get into the spirit of the season by visiting some of Europe’s best yuletide markets, wake up Christmas morning with a tree and other trimmings on board, or raise a glass alongside other passengers and toast the arrival of 2023.”

Conroy suggested that with the 2022 departures now on sale, “it’s even possible to give someone special in your life the gift of a European river cruise for next year.”
