Scenic Group fills out its team ahead of ocean expansion: Travel Weekly
Scenic Group has hired a former member of the Crystal Cruises family to oversee ocean products as the brand prepares to double its ocean capacity next year.
Claudius Docekal, formerly Crystal’s vice president of deployment overseeing the brand’s yacht and expedition products, now serves as Scenic Group’s vice president of product for the ocean division. Docekal has worked in the industry for three decades, which includes serving in senior positions at Azamara Club Cruises and SeaDream Yacht Club.
The group, which includes Emerald Cruises and Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours, plans to welcome two new ocean yachts to its fleet, the Scenic Eclipse II and the Emerald Sakara.
In preparing for this growth, Scenic has also hired Bert Goebel as vice president of hotel operations for ocean products. Goebel comes from Crown & Champa Resort Hotel Group in the Maldives and has worked at Oceania, Regent and Aida. He will report to senior vice president of operations Mark Robinson.
Scenic Group has also promoted Elisabeth Sadler to vice president of product for the rivers division. She began her Scenic career in 2014 as part of the Emerald Cruises startup team. She will oversee all river products on behalf of Emerald Cruises and Scenic Luxury Cruises and & Tours. She will report to Scenic Group COO Rob Voss.
