Scenic is including a Floriade visit on several river cruises

Scenic river cruise guests who book itineraries that include the once-in-a-decade Floriade Horticulture Expo can expect to enjoy an entire day of exploration.

Guests will be able to tour the attractions, exhibits and gardens on the grounds at the 7th International Horticultural Exhibition Floriade Expo, which runs from April 14 to Oct. 9 in Almere, about a 30-minute drive from Amsterdam.

This year’s theme focuses on a sustainable future and features four sub-themes relating to sustainability: Greening the City, Feeding the City, Healthying the City and Energizing the City. 

New sustainability technology, lectures and an array of live music and dining options will be among the attractions featured at the expo this year.

Scenic’s full-day exploration will be available on five itineraries ranging from eight to 17 days. Many cruises include bike tours of Veere; oyster farm visits and tastings; learning to cook traditional apple pies from a local family; and a tour of Delft, a Dutch city known for its blue-and-white pottery.
