Sea Cloud Cruises strengthens leadership in North America
Sea Cloud Cruises has added a pair of new leaders to grow the brand in North America.
Mirell Reyes will serve as president of Sea Cloud Cruises, overseeing all sales, marketing and communications in North America. She most recently served as president of Star Clippers Americas and previously worked as executive director of sales and marketing for TUI Leisure Travel.
The company has also appointed Kevin Smith, most recently vice president of sales for American Queen Voyages, to serve as Sea Cloud’s vice president of sales.
He will be focused on consortia, travel advisors, groups and new charter partnerships. Smith previously worked in sales positions at AmaWaterways and Silversea.
Sea Cloud Cruises U.S. will operate out of South Florida.
Sea Cloud appeared on the brink of sale last year to Yacht Portfolio, the parent company of Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. Germany-based Sea Cloud Cruises ultimately decided against the sale.
The cruise line sails three ships: the Sea Cloud, a 92-year-old four-mast ship equipped to carry 64 passengers; the 94-passenger Sea Cloud II built in 2001; and the 136-passenger Sea Cloud Spirit, which debuted in 2021.
The line sails in Europe, the Canary Islands, Morocco, Cape Verde, the Caribbean and Central America.
