Walter Littlejohn departs Crystal River Cruises

Crystal River Cruises managing director Walter Littlejohn has left the company after nearly six years of service.

“We can confirm that Walter is no longer with Crystal, and we wish him well on his future endeavors,” said Vance Gulliksen, Crystal Cruises’ director of public relations.

The news of Littlejohn’s departure follows Crystal’s announcement on Jan. 19 that the company would suspend ocean and expedition voyages through April 2022 and river cruises through May 2022.

The company said it was suspending voyages in order to provide time to evaluate its current state of business and examine options moving forward, following news this week that Crystal’s parent company, Genting Hong Kong, was filing to wind up operations.

“This was an extremely difficult decision but a prudent one given the current business environment and recent developments with our parent company, Genting Hong Kong,” said Jack Anderson, Crystal’s president.

Genting Hong Kong announced on Jan. 18 that it would run out of cash by the end of the month and had no access to further liquidity.
