The lodge offers the Royal Ranger’s Club, a young explorer’s guide to the bushveld. Children will learn how to spot animals through Track & Sign lessons, complete animal checklists and learn how species are classified, look up at the stars and become familiar with the trees and end off with a Bush Quiz to earn their official Royal Ranger certificate.
“The guides and trackers are part of the Royal Malewane family, well known as the most qualified guiding team in Africa and especially equipped to create an engaging and exciting experience for young families,” said Simon Mandy, managing director of the Royal Portfolio.
Rates, which start from $1,960 per person, are fully inclusive of all accommodations, meals, drinks (including fine South African wines), twice-daily game drives and bush walks. There are also single and double spa treatment rooms and a Hammam offering a variety of treatments as well as a gym and yoga/meditation room; wine cellar; game room and — unusual for a safari lodge – a kids’ entertainment area.
