ASIA DMC declares support for Myanmar’s travel industry
7 night self-famil from USD 347 per person*
Amongst a common trend turning away from Myanmar due to the Rohingya refugee crisis, Asia’s leading regional destination management company, ASIA DMC is taking significant steps to protect the livelihood of its local team, partners and especially its primary local suppliers, through further promotion of the destination with its trade partners.
Following on from this September’s agents’ small group tour, ASIA DMC is now offering a private self–fam program for individual agents (and a travel companion) to travel at well reduced industry rate through September and the low season in 2019. This seven night package including Bagan, Mandalay, Inle Lake & Yangon has ground arrangements for USD 347 per person (*based on twin share).
Since Myanmar opened to international travel, the country has welcomed an ever-increasing number of visitors coming to discover its enchanting culture and history with thousands of temples and shrines scattered over the kingdom. Since 2016, ASIA DMC Myanmar has seen an increase in guest arrivals but an overall decrease since 2017, which results in a declined livelihood of local staff and ground support. To turn things around, ASIA DMC Myanmar shall continue to touch on a variety of different aspects and interests that this country has to offer guests. Furthermore, the local team have secured a multi-faceted promotional campaign to attract guests and educate its trade partners to make informed decisions to help promote the destination.
Starting with its trade partners, a Fam trip for Australian and New Zealand agents will be hosted in September, and for any agents not privy to this trip, the DMC offers private self – fam programs for individual agents (and companions) to travel at well reduced industry rate from now through to September and throughout low season in 2019.
“Through our original Spirit of Travel philosophy, ASIA DMC will continue to introduce guests to a diverse collection of sustainable and authentic experiences in Myanmar, showcasing the very best of what this captivating country has to offer,” commented Gerben Bloemendaal, Managing Director of ASIA DMC Myanmar. In order to bring this magical country closer to travellers, ASIA DMC has also created a wellness retreat hosted by world-renowned wellness practitioners with daily meditation and yoga practices as well as treks, experiences and engagement with the local community. With offers for trade, media and also substantial benefits for guests, ASIA DMC continues to support the livelihood of the Myanmar people within its own control and touring terrain.
Agents interested in the Myanmar self-famil would need to organise their own international and domestic flights. ASIA DMC Myanmar have secured special promotional fares for domestic flights, which they are able to organise on agents’ behalf. For those wishing to stay longer, the local team are more than happy to tailor an extension.
