Aspen Snowmass fundraises for Australia

In response to the devastating issues facing the resorts’s top international market, Aspen Snowmass will be donating over $100,00 AUD in prizes and is launching the Australia Wildlife Relief Fund today.  Jeff Hanle, Vice President of Communications at Aspen Skiing Company says, “Our hearts and thoughts are with our Australian friends, colleagues and loyal guests who are in extreme crisis due to widespread wildfires and we are keen to help.”

To assist in Australia’s fight, Aspen Skiing Company has created an Australia Wildlife Relief Fund with a promise of matching the first US$12,500 (AUD$18, 233)  in donations. For a limited time, all one-time donations to Aspen Skiing Company Environment Foundation will go to fire relief through the Australian Red Cross. Long after the fires are out, Aspen Snowmass is committed to continuing to work hard on the climate problem to protect Australia, our own country, and the future.

In addition, a staggering AUD$100,000 of prizes will be donated to a silent auction on Australia’s dedicated snow travel site,, including $40,000 alone in product from the Aspen Skiing Company, with the total including lodging well exceeding six figures. Casey Peck, Account Manager Strategic Markets says, “The Aspen Snowmass community has rallied and we are thrilled that with the support of our lodging partners, total contributions are well over $100k. It is so wonderful to be a part of a community that comes together in times of crisis like this.

Aspen Snowmass properties have rallied to the call, with an enormous total of ten packages being donated involving The Little Nell, Limelight Aspen, Limelight Snowmass, Hotel Jerome, the St. Regis, The Gant, Frias Properties,  North of Nell, Destination Residences Snowmass and the new W Hotel Aspen. Extras include premium rentals, lift tickets, and in some packages private lessons and gourmet meals from dining partners. Details of the silent auction will be released early next week.

Resort Ambassador Torah Bright, a Cooma native, has arrived in Aspen Snowmass ahead of the Torah Bright Mini Shred on January 11 and says, “The amazing crew at Aspen Skiing Company have announced they will be running fundraisers to support all Aussies affected by the fires…So I’ll be there all week drumming up support!! It’s an incredible gesture from our US friends to support Australia.”
