Free Iguazu Stopover

Combine the dramatic landscapes of Antarctica, the colonial splendour of Argentina’s Buenos Aires and Brazil’s breath-taking Iguazu Falls in this unique journey from leading cruise package specialist, ecruising.travel

South America and the White Continent boast more than their fair share of bucket list experiences and attractions, and ecruising’s 17-night Antarctica in Depth cruise package offers up an unparalleled chance to visit three of them. Kicking off in March 2020, this extraordinary itinerary will take you on a journey to Antarctica onboard luxurious expedition ship, Scenic Eclipse, plus time spent in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires, not to mention a FREE 3-night stopover at the magnificent Belmond Das Cataratas in Brazil’s Iguazu Falls for the ultimate post cruise experience.

Your epic adventure begins in Buenos Aires on 6 March 2020 with a night at the charming and centrally located Alvear Art Hotel, before flying south to Ushuaia, the world’s southernmost city, on 7 March. Here you will embark Scenic Eclipse for an unforgettable 11-night all-inclusive, 6-star cruise to the Antarctic.

Scenic Eclipse sets a new standard in luxury cruising, with state-of-the-art features designed to deliver the ultimate expeditionary cruise experience for just 200 guests including spacious all-veranda suite accommodation, incomparable personal service courtesy of a 1:1 guest-to-staff ratio, plus a wealth of fantastic dining options, unlimited complimentary beverages, a tranquil onboard spa, fitness studio and indoor and outdoor pools. Even better, a team of onboard expert Discovery Leaders and a fleet of Zodiacs, plus access to the ship’s own helicopter and custom-built submarine, all guarantee a truly unforgettable voyage.

As a destination, Antarctica defies the imagination. Remote, pristine and undeniably beautiful, this awe-inspiring region of untouched icescapes, mountains rising from the sea, and incredible, diverse wildlife will literally take your breath away. Gaze upon peaks that have never felt human footfall. Marvel at spectacular scenery and explore the Antarctic Peninsula’s many wonders via Zodiac, kayak, helicopter and submarine including the stunning 11-kilometre-long Lemaire Channel where steep cliffs hem in the iceberg-filled passage, just 700 metres wide at its narrowest point. There may even be an opportunity to visit a working scientific base and discuss life in the harsh Antarctic conditions with staff and, if conditions are favourable, to cross the Antarctic Circle at latitude 66°33’ South! And of course, the constantly changing weather, landscapes and colours also provide limitless unique opportunities for professional and amateur photographers alike, leaving you awestruck with memories that will last a lifetime.

Your voyage concludes back in Ushuaia on 18 March, when you will disembark for your return flight to the Argentinian capital for another two nights at Alvear Art Hotel. Here you can explore Buenos Aires’ rich cultural history, with a half day tour of its museums, shopping and thriving restaurant scene, plus dinner and a tango show at the city’s famed La Ventana restaurant.

On 20 March 2020 prepare for your onward journey to Brazil’s Iguazu Falls, where you will spend the next 3 nights at the stunning Belmond Hotel Das Cataratas – the only hotel within Iguazu National Park. Visit the breath-taking Falls at dawn and the Bird Park with its colourful and exotic inhabitants, take tours on each of the Brazilian and Argentinian sides of Iguazu, or simply indulge in a little ‘me time’ relaxing beside the hotel’s stunning pool, before returning to Buenos Aires on 23 March 2020 for your flight home.

Departing on 6 March 2020, prices for ecruising’s 17-night Antarctica in Depth journey start from $21,399* per person twin share, including all accommodation, half-day Buenos Aires City Tour, La Ventana dinner and show, half-day tour of the Brazilian side and full-day tour of the Argentinian side of Iguazu Falls, return international economy class airfares from Australia, return economy class flights from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, and transfers in Buenos Aires and Iguazu.
