A new program showcases St. Lucia's most intimate hotels: Travel Weekly
The St. Lucia Tourism Authority has unveiled an accommodations and marketing program to support the 400 or so hotels and resorts on the island with 35 or fewer rooms.
Called Collection de Pepites, the program showcases a range of local B&Bs, boutiques, inns and luxury villas. The name originates in the island’s French heritage and means a collection of small pieces or nuggets of gold.
“We know from visitor feedback that there is a real demand for these distinct properties, many of which offer the opportunity to get closer to the action for an authentic experience,” said Lorine Charles-St. Jules, the authority’s CEO.
The collection has a dedicated page on the St. Lucia visitors website where travelers can find details on the types of accommodation and search by their specific criteria, such as location, family-friendly or price.
For commissionable properties, agents can book with the properties directly. The tourism authority also will assist properties in setting up new links with agents in each market.
All participating properties have been accredited by the authority, and ongoing reviews and checks will take place to ensure quality control and safety management.
Initial listings include eight properties, including the Jungle Escape Eco Lodge; in the countryside, the four-cottage Paradise Hotel overlooking Malgretoute Beach in the south; the six-suite Tet Rouge set at the base of Gros Piton; and South Sea House with three apartments in a cul de sac in Cap Estate in the north.
More properties will be added to the program.
