Hibiscus at Jamaica's Half Moon completes a renovation

The 68 rooms and suites of the Hibiscus section of Jamaica’s Half Moon resort have reopened following a total renovation to reflect what the resort said was the evolving tastes of the luxury traveler.

The one- and two-bedroom beachfront accommodations have adjoining options, access to gardens, new furniture and decor, redesigned patios and balconies and upgraded technology, including larger smart TVs.

The black-and-white furniture represents Jamaica’s design history, and the rooms showcase the work of local artists, including handmade weaves on furniture and cabinetry.

Glass doors have been installed to offer unobstructive views of the Caribbean Sea, and patios and terraces include hanging daybeds or rocking chairs. Bathrooms now have double showers or clawfoot tubs, while ground-floor units have outdoor showers fitted with private garden trellises.

Hibiscus is set within the Founders Cove original section of Half Moon with a crescent-shaped beach, swimming pool complex, swim-up bar and nearby tennis and fitness facilities.

The Hibiscus renovation is the latest in successive improvements at Half Moon, including the 2020 opening of the Eclipse at Half Moon with 57 accommodations, an infinity-edge pool, swim cove and seven bars and restaurants.

The resort also has 27 Rose Hall Villas, which offer 5-, 6- and 7-bedroom units, living and dining areas and private pools. Each villa is staffed with a butler, housekeeper and private chef.

Half Moon is offering a Stay More Save More promotion with savings of up to 25% for stays before Dec. 19. The standard starting rate is $650 per room per night, double.

Hibiscus offers savings of up to 15% on two-night stays (starting at $552), up to 20% on three-night stays (from $520) and 25% off 4- to 7-night bookings (from $487).
