Travelport creates position with new platform in mind

Travelport has named Tom Kershaw its chief product and technology officer, a new role at the company.

Kershaw joins Travelport from advertising platform Magnite, where he was chief technology officer. Before that, while at the Rubicon Project in 2017, he founded Prebid.org, an open-source software organization focused on advertising.

Prior to that, he was a director of product management at Google. There, he led its ads and commerce product team in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as leading product management for Google Cloud. He has also held positions at Ericsson, VeriSign and Unisys Corporation.

Travelport CEO Greg Webb said Kershaw will help bolster Travelport+, the single platform that is intended to replace the Galileo, Apollo and Worldspan legacy reservation systems.

“Tom is a proven change-maker, having led significant transformation in the enterprise cloud space and global advertising sector, and I’m thrilled that he’s embraced the challenge of helping us modernize travel retailing,” Webb said in a statement. “He brings invaluable knowledge and experience to our technology leadership team that will greatly support the evolution of Travelport+.”
