Yacht holidays are typically associated with the rich and famous.
For this reason, many travellers would think that the boat trips would be way out of budget.
So it may surprise you to learn that you can hire out one of the vessels for as little as £126 per week.
Here’s everything you need to know about the enticing holiday deal.
Borrow a Boat offers Brits the opportunity to hire luxury boats at affordable prices.
The ten-person Lagoon 380 S2 yacht is one of the vessels on the company’s books.
It is currently moored at Beograd na Moru, Croatia and is worth an eye-watering £200,000.
Despite the craft’s hefty price tag, it can be hired for just £1,260 for a week.
Split between 10 people, this works out at a responsible £126 per person.
The Oceanis 331 is another vessel that’s popular with holidaymakers.
It is currently docked at Port Varna, the largest seaport complex in Bulgaria.
For £1,449 a week, or £181 each, eight people can stay on the boat.
Unlike typical holidays, you won’t have to stay in one place for too long.
Yachting allows passengers the freedom to travel along the coast, which you wouldn’t get if you stayed at a hotel.
On the Borrow a Boat website, the owners reveal that they hope to make sea travel widely available.
A spokesperson commented: “For as long as anyone can remember boating has been perceived as the preserve of the wealthy…
“Our mission is to open up boating and make it more accessible and easier to access for the masses.
“We are aiming to get more people involved with boating and sailing holidays by bringing more choice of boats and a greater variety of locations to the charter market.
“In addition, we believe in better value charters, straightforward booking and a hassle-free boating adventure.
“We simultaneously want to help boat owners reduce the cost of boat ownership, by giving them the platform to list and charter their boats.”
