Guests can check in to one of the park’s brand new authentic safari tents – complete with their own wood-fired hot tubs. The tents were erected in time for staycations to resume in 2021, and have been a big hit on-site ever since.

Far from your typical “tent”, the safari tents are constructed from a mix of durable canvas and wood, creating the same feel as a cabin and making them suitable for stays right into the autumn months.

It’s a unique twist on the glamping trend, harkening back to the origins of African luxury camping.

Perhaps one of the safari tents’ most alluring attributes is their ability to emerge guests in nature, while still enjoying the many comforts of home. The lush greenery of the New Forest is accessible simply by unzipping the doors each morning and stepping out onto your own private deck.

As night falls, guests can watch the sun slip beneath the horizon, while unwinding in their own, private hot tub.

However, if that is your plan be sure to begin the wood-burning process around four hours before you intend to bathe.

Though the idea of a wood-fired hot tub might sound daunting at first, the process is relatively simple, and Green Hill Farm provides plenty of wood and kindling to get things started.

Each tent comes with a spacious lounge area complete with television, and a fully-equipped kitchen and dining area, as well as electric outlets throughout to ensure you can remain connected even when off-grid.

Whether you’re cooking a romantic dinner or breakfast for the family, mealtimes are made easy thanks to a four-zone electric hob, microwave and toaster.

A large fridge freezer is on hand to keep supplies fresh during your stay, and there’s no need to worry about washing up as each safari tent even comes with its own dishwasher.

Three bedrooms offer enough space for six people to sleep comfortably, with a double bedroom and twin room available on the main floor.

However, the most unique bedroom, and our favourite, is tucked away in what, at first glance, could fool you into believing is a cupboard.

Behind the small double doors, set atop a short set of ladders, lies a cosy bedroom nook, with enough space for two to snuggle up.

Each safari tent also has a bathroom with a large shower and a small den tucked away beneath the cupboard bedroom, promising a private escape for little ones to play.

While Green Hill Farm assures guests an escape into the wild, with access to the New Forest directly from the park, there are also plenty of amenities on-sitew.

For any last-minute supplies or forgotten food items, the park shop provides everything from shampoo and toothpaste, to locally-made jams and a decent selection of wine.

There is also a Café bar and Pizzeria for those days when cooking simply isn’t on the agenda.

Activities are also on the menu, including archery, segway sessions, mini-golf and den building, as well as a dedicated fishing lake.

For the little ones, the site is home to a sizeable play park, junior trampolines and a splash pad in the warmer months.

One of the park’s greatest draws, though, is its location, with the rolling hills and lush foliage of the New Forest just steps from your campsite.

Here, guests can walk alongside wild ponies, cows and even pigs at certain times of the year.

They aren’t the only animals within walking distance of your holiday abode. A merry flock of ducks were frequently spotted from the window of our safari tent as they waddle their way around the holiday park.

Meanwhile, each morning during our stay we awoke to the sound of birdsong.

It’s these elements of the outdoors that make the safari tents such an immersive experience.

But, for those who aren’t too keen on the idea of a safari tent, the good news is that Lovat Park’s Green Hill Farm promises a selection of additional accommodation options.

Guests can opt to stay in a Luxury Holiday Home, Camping Pod, or travel with their motorhome, connecting to one of the electric hook-up points on site.

Should you fall truly in love with the park, Green Hill Farm is home to a small selection of private luxury homes available for purchase.

However, the high demand means the site is currently sold out – and there is a bit of a waiting list.

Providing a designated and comfortable place for holiday homes is just part of Lovat’s ethos.

“One of our values is that we want to build strong ties with the local communities that we operate in,” owner and founder Raoul Fraser told Express.co.uk.

“As a result, we donate money to local initiatives and are proud of the fact that rather than our customers buying traditional bricks and mortar homes (and therefore leading to property price inflation), they buy holiday homes on our parks.”

Regardless of whether you are a long time resident or a first-time customer, though, Green Hill Park will provide the comforts of a home away from home, almost entirely secluded in the wild.
