American's Flagship Lounges get reopening dates

American Airlines will begin a gradual reopening of its Flagship Lounge network on Sept. 14 at New York JFK.

The Miami Flagship Lounge will follow on Sept. 28, with reopenings in Los Angeles, Dallas-Fort Worth and Chicago O’Hare slated for later in the fall. 

American will also resume Flagship First Dining service in JFK on Sept. 16 and in Miami on Sept. 30. 

Flagship Lounges cater primarily to international flyers on American and its Oneworld Alliance partners, though they are also open to premium transcontinental flyers on some routes as well as domestic flyers with American’s top Concierge Key membership status and domestic flyers who hold Oneworld Emerald or Sapphire status.

Flagship Lounge access expanded

On Tuesday, the airline announced that it will expand Flagship Lounge access to include business and first-class customers traveling to Hawaii. 

Flagship First Dining is reserved primarily for first-class international and transcontinental American ticket holders. 

Flagship lounges have been closed throughout the pandemic. With their reopening, American will also resume its partnership with the James Beard Foundation that brings prominent local chefs into the lounges.
