DOJ is suing to block the JetBlue-Spirit merger
The Justice Department has sued to block the $3.8 billion merger of JetBlue and Spirit Airlines.
During an interview Tuesday morning with CBS News, JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes said the carriers had planned for the challenge from the onset of their deal, and had factored a potential trial into their stated closing timeline of 2024.
JetBlue and Spirit, if merged, would become the fifth largest U.S. airline.
