Flight cancellations continue as Hurricane Ian plows on: Travel Weekly
Flight cancellations continued apace Friday, as Hurricane Ian made landfall on the South Carolina coast.
More than 1,900 flights to, from or within the U.S. had been canceled as of 4 p.m. Eastern time, according to FlightAware.
In Charleston, S.C., the airport has been closed until Saturday morning. All flights into and out of Myrtle Beach, S.C., are also canceled. And the majority of operations into and out of Savannah, Ga., have been canceled, according to FlightAware.

In Florida, most airports have reopened, at least partially, following Ian’s powerful landfall on Wednesday. Among those that reopened Friday were Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville and Sarasota, though many flights at those airports continue to be canceled.
Orlando Sanford airport has also reopened, though all departing flights for the day have been canceled.
Fort Myers airport remains closed to all but emergency personnel as damage assessments continue.
Airlines are offering travel waivers for flights at airports impacted by Ian.
