United will resume its U.S.-Singapore service in January

United Airlines will resume flights to Singapore in January for the first time since March 2020, when the pandemic began.

The four-times weekly service from San Francisco will begin Jan. 5 in the San Francisco-to-Singapore direction and Jan. 9 from Singapore to San Francisco.

It is United’s lone Singapore route. It will operate with a Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner with business class, premium economy and coach cabins.

The carrier will operate each of the Singapore frequencies in compliance with the city-state’s Vaccinated Travel Lanes program, under which all flyers must be vaccinated. In addition, U.S. visitors to Singapore must still get a Covid-19 PCR test 48 hours of their flight’s departure and also upon arrival at Singapore’s Changi Airport.

Singapore Airlines is also scheduled to resume nonstop San Francisco-Singapore flights in January, according to Cirium flight schedule data. The carrier resumed one-stop San Francisco-Hong Kong-Singapore flights this month.
