17 promotions that will make your next hotel stay more rewarding

Keeping track of the latest hotel bonuses is difficult — especially if you’re one of the many travelers juggling elite status at a handful of brands. However, these promos can be the best way to boost your account balances and unlock awards quickly. This guide covers all current promotions across the major hotel chains, so bookmark this page for regularly updated offers, links and other information about your favorite hotel chains. We’ll also dive in a bit about which offer will get you the most bang for your buck.

The following promotions focus entirely on bonus points or gift cards and exclude regular offers like AAA/AARP member discounts. The list doesn’t include offers on cobranded hotel credit cards, but you can check out the following links for additional details on these cards and currently available welcome bonuses:

Best Western

Best Western is currently offering two promotions. Firstly, you can get 2,000 bonus points per stay, which works out especially well if you’re booking shorter stays. TPG values Best Western Rewards at 0.6 cents each, making 2000 bonus points worth about $12. That certainly won’t get you a free night, but it could be helpful if you need to top up your account ahead of a redemption.

Plus, you can get a $25 Best Western gift card for each night you complete in the U.S., Canada or Caribbean, up to four nights. If you complete five nights, you’ll also earn double points on all of your nights.

Choice Privileges

Unfortunately, Choice Privileges isn’t currently offering any promotions. But, we’ll update this page when there is a new one.

Hilton Honors

Hilton’s running an unlimited points promotion wherein if you book and stay by May 2, 2021, you’ll earn 2,000 points for every stay. Additionally, you’ll earn 5,000 points for every five nights. If you think you’ll have a Hilton stay coming up and even if you don’t – it doesn’t hurt to register for this promotion. You’ll need to book via Hilton with a code for the 2X Points Package.

IHG Rewards Club

The first major promotion of 2021 is here for IHG Rewards Club members: Earn 2,000 bonus points for every two nights or more, for a possible maximum 70,000-point bonus. While this bonus is worth just $10 in cash, these points qualify toward elite status and increase the promotion’s value.

Travelers will accrue bonus points based on the total number of nights stayed. For example, a guest would earn 2,000 IHG points whether they complete a single two-night or two one-night stays during the promotion period. Likewise, a traveler who completes a three-night stay followed by a one-night stay will earn 4,000 bonus points.

The fine-print conditions include:

• You must book a qualifying rate with a total spend of $30 per night or more.
• You can only participate in one IHG Rewards Club promotion at a time unless allowed explicitly by IHG.
• The maximum number of bonus points you can earn through this promotion is 70,000 points.
• Only one room per member per night may earn bonus points.
• It may take four to six weeks after checkout for bonus points to be credited to your account.

Guests must complete qualified stays between Jan. 20 and March 31, 2021. Registration is required before booking for the stay to qualify.

The previous IHG Stay Longer and Save promotion is still ongoing as well, offering up to 20% back on stays of three nights or longer.

Marriott

Marriott is currently three bonus point promotions, with the most lucrative one being a targeted offer. The offer varies by member, but TPG staff members have received as high as 22,500 bonus points after two paid nights. If you’re hitting the road this year, the Marriott-Hertz promotion can also be pretty lucrative.

Omni Hotels

Omni is stepping things up this year with a solid promotion: 20% off and 4x award night credits through Mar. 31, 2021. Considering 20 award night credits equals a free night at any Omni, this promotion is pretty generous.

The catch? This promotion is for Omni Gold members only. Members with Platinum or Black status do not qualify for this offer. To take advantage of this promotion, check your email for a registration link. If you don’t qualify for the 4x award night credit portion, you can still get 20% off at select properties, regardless of your status level.

Rocketmiles

This is perhaps the easiest way to earn 5,000 points or miles, as long as you remember to book your next hotel stay through Rocketmiles instead of your preferred chain.

World of Hyatt

Hyatt has several ongoing promotions for travel through the summer. This is great news if you’re hoping to save or earn more points on 2021 travel. Hyatt members usually earn 5X points on normal charges, while elite members earn additional points bonuses. But during the Bonus Journey promotion, members will earn at least 2,000 extra points for every two qualifying nights and a Free Night Award after ten qualifying nights.

If you pay for your stay with the World of Hyatt Credit Card, you’ll continue to earn 4X points before factoring in any elite bonuses. Wyndham Rewards

Every Wednesday through March 31, Wyndham will launch new deals exclusively for Wyndham Rewards members. While deals will be revealed weekly, most will run for at least two weeks or more.

For the first deal, Wyndham is offering a 40% bonus when purchasing points. This deal is valid from March 3 – April 5, 2021.
