‘Absolutely beautiful’ British beach looks like tropical paradise

Bali is one of the world’s most breathtaking beach destinations, but unfortunately for British tourists, a plane ticket to Indonesia can cost an arm and a leg.

Luckily, there’s an “absolutely beautiful” beach in Devon that looks like it could be a tropical paradise.

According to the travel team at Verdant Leisure, Tunnels Beach in Devon is the ideal staycation alternative to a trip to Asia.

A spokesperson said: “A popular destination for young travellers, Bali is famous for its tropical climate and fantastic surfs.

“Fortunately for UK holidaymakers, you can replicate the magic of Ulluwatu in Bali, without the steep price tag, when visiting Tunnels Beach in Ilfracombe.

“The beach is nestled amongst a rock face, with hidden coves and tunnels, perfect for little ones to explore during your visit.”

The pretty Tunnels beaches are backed by cliffs and can only be accessed via a network of tunnels.

The tunnels were hand carved in the early 19th century and lead to gorgeous sand and shingle beaches.

There’s a discounted fee for senior citizens and students while families can also benefit from a group deal.
