American mocked by Brits for embarrassing mistake while visiting UK landmark
An American tourist has been mocked by Brits over an embarrassing mistake she made while on holiday in the UK.
In a video posted by a TikTok user, Emmy made a confession about her recent trip to Bath as she thought the city's famous Roman-built baths were still in use.
The woman who posts as @emmyaround even packed a swimsuit for the trip but was, unsurprisingly, left disappointed when she arrived.

Over the video, she wrote: "Raise your hand if you thought the Roman baths still worked and packed a swimsuit for the trip only to realise they're not functioning and the water looks like this."
In the caption, she added: "100% human error but I'm going to blame heat stroke."
Emmy, who has received more than 248,000 likes, has since received mocking comments following her blunder as people claim that it is 'stereotypical' of her to think something like that.
One person wrote: "This is the most 'American tourist' thing I have ever seen somebody admit to."
Another person said: "This is like going to the Colosseum expecting to see gladiators."
A third added: "Who doesn’t read up about a place you’re going to visit?"
However, some people were kind enough to reply to her with some advice and suggest other locations she could have been thinking of.

One user said: "I think you may be thinking of the Thermae Bath Spa across the road from this. This is a historical monument etc x"
To which, Emmy replied: "I got my wires crossed! The tour said ‘baths entry’ and I was too jet lagged to investigate further. Had a good laugh."
Another added: "There is a spa you can go and swim in just around the corner from there! It’s a thermal bath like that is meant to be but minus the lead poisoning."
The tourist has since returned to London, which was her starting point on the trip, following the blunder on August 14.
According to her recent videos, she has so far visited Hyde Park and Covent Garden where she had the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory afternoon tea experience.
