Holyrood Park in Edinburgh was named the best park in the UK to enjoy stunning autumn leaves.

The spokesperson said: “Located around the royal Holyrood House, this impressive landscape is a prime place to get a clear look over the city of Edinburgh.

“With the leaves falling off trees, it makes the walk up to Arthur’s Seat even more exciting and can make for a great photo moment.”

King Charles III has spent time at Holyrood House this week as he visited Edinburgh on a royal trip.

Wollaton Hall and Park in Nottinghamshire was rated the best place in England to enjoy autumn leaves.

The spokesperson said: “This famous site in Nottinghamshire was once used in the Batman film-The Dark Knight Rises.

“There’s plenty to do here in autumn: have a picnic on the hills, explore the history inside the famous Hall or take photos of the nearby deer which are more likely to make an appearance during the autumn months.”

Regent’s Park in London was the last park to make the top three and always welcomes plenty of tourists in autumn.

The park is one of the best places to enjoy autumn colours in the capital city and visitors can also enjoy a sunset from Primrose Hill.

In Wales, Porthkerry Country Park in Barry took the top spot for beautiful autumn leaves in 2022.

The spokesperson said: “It’s a must-see for dog walkers who can explore the multiple nature trails and pop in the cafe for a nice relaxing break.

“For the Gavin and Stacey lovers, this sought after location is also close to the famous Barry Island.”
