The Canary Islands were added back to the travel corridor list last week in a huge boost for winter holidays. The islands are popular with Britons over the winter due to their hot climate and beach locations. Despite the islands being added to the travel corridor list, Spain and the Balearic Islands remain on the quarantine list which means Britons returning from there have to isolate for 14 days.
Many airlines and travel companies are now offering great deals for holidays to the Canaries.
Since the coronavirus pandemic struck earlier this year, airlines and travel companies have suffered huge losses.
Airlines like Jet2 have been cancelling flights and holidays to certain destinations following the UK’s quarantine announcements.
A couple of weeks ago, Jet2 announced that it would be cancelling flights and holidays to Spain and Portugal following the latest quarantine restrictions.
Now, the airline has revealed the exact dates for when they will restart their operations to the Canary Islands, Spain, Portugal and Italy.
The airline said: “In line with FCDO (Foreign, Commonwealth, Development Office) travel advice affecting many of our European destinations, we are constantly reviewing our flights and holidays programmes.
“Following a number of recent updates, we would like to advise of our planned restart dates to several destinations which are currently affected by programme changes.”
Jet2 will restart flights to Tenerife on October 30 and Lanzarote on October 31.

All of Jet2’s other flights to Spain, Portugal, Malta and Venice will restart in 2021.

Flights to Faro will continue as scheduled up to and including October 31.
They will then stop from November 1 before restarting on February 11, 2021.
“Updates regarding destinations not listed will be provided soon,” Jet2 said.
They added: “We know how much our customers want to get away for their much-needed holidays, and we want to ensure we can continue to bring you the same industry-leading customer service you know and love.”
