Cheapest flights from the UK in October including ‘beautiful’ city

October is the ideal time for an autumn break. With cooler temperatures and cheaper prices, October has plenty to offer.

Express.co.uk searched Skyscanner for the cheapest flights from the UK throughout October.

British tourists could pick up return flights for under £20 to a “beautiful” city in Poland which is one of Europe’s most underrated destinations.

Britons will need to check the cost of accommodation before they book and some flights may require tourists to pay more for luggage.

However, tourists are likely to find hotel prices are less expensive than during the peak summer season.

Poland

One of the cheapest destinations for Britons looking to escape in October is Wroclaw, a charming Polish city. Express.co.uk found return flights for under £20 from London and under £35 from Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester and Bournemouth.

Wroclaw sits on the Oder River in western Poland. The city is known for its attractive Market Square and picturesque townhouses.

A tourist wrote on Tripadvisor: “One of the most beautiful places I have been. The whole main square was a glorious technicolour experience. The buildings are amazing and stunning in their architecture.”

Romania

The unofficial capital of Transylvania, Cluj-Napoca, has more than just Dracula to offer. Express.co.uk found direct flights for under £30 from London, Birmingham and Leeds.

From its historic square to its lively music scene, tourists might be surprised by how diverse Cluj-Napoca’s offering is.

King Charles III is also a fan of the region due to his distant links to the man who inspired Dracula, and the monarch even owns a guest house there.

easyJet’s Big Orange Sale is offering discounts of £100 off holidays worth £800 or more, and up to £200 off holidays worth £2,000. Qualifying holidays will have discounts automatically applied with the code SALE. Deal ends September 12, 2023.

Bulgaria

Express.co.uk found return flights to Sofia for just £22 from London in October and under £55 from Birmingham and Edinburgh.

The Bulgarian capital’s landmarks reflect its diverse 2,000 years of history and it was originally built on Roman ruins.

Top attractions include the St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and Vitosha Boulevard, the city’s main commercial street.
