Colfax Marathon races set for Sunday morning, causing street closures
The Colfax Marathon will cause street closures Sunday morning between City Park and downtown Denver, in the downtown area, and west of the city center into Lakewood.
About 11,000 have registered for the marathon, half marathon, 10-miler and marathon relay. A 5K in City Park Saturday is expected to attract another 4,000 to 5,000 but will not affect traffic outside the park.
The event is back in its traditional place on the calendar for the first time since the pandemic. It traditionally ranks as Colorado’s second-largest running event. The largest, the Bolder Boulder 10K, will be held on Memorial Day for the first time since 2019.
