A dad was criticised after revealing that during a recent family holiday his children were left with staff for eight hours a day – while he and his wife kicked back and relaxed.

Influencer Simon who goes by the handle @father_of_daughters, regularly shares his day-to-day family life as a man outnumbered by his four daughters and wife Clemmie.

However, his latest post to his 867,000 Instagram followers following a family holiday in Turkey has ruffled some feathers.

Simon revealed that during their stay in Foça the family paired up with Mark Warner Holidays – and for eight hours a day his four girls were left with the childcare team to do activities.

In his post, he claimed that the staff were ‘heroes’ for giving the adults a ‘real holiday’ – adding they “didn’t really see” their daughters during the holiday.

The post read: “These amazing people mixed in with our family may look like just yet more girls looking to outnumber me even further, but they are far, far more than that.

“They (Lucy, Talia and Becky along with the other childcare team members) are heroes – heroes that let us as adults have a real holiday – a break for parenting.

“@mwholidays are based around families and the one thing we keep coming back for (it's our 3rd time) above the sports, activities, excellent food and beautiful locations, is the childcare.

“For 8 hours of the day the twins were doing water sports, games & pool activities with kids their own age, whilst Anya and Marnie made friends with other tweens and teens and did what they do best (making TikToks, swimming, windsurfing and A LOT of talking) – we didn't really see them unless it was to ask for ice creams or to stay out late!

“That meant Clemmie and I got to spend decent children-free time together to do what we do best – whatever we wanted to without being hassled by small people!

“With this level of childcare, it's going to hard to get back to reality but I'm not hesitating in booking again next year. See my stories for more details of the days – I can't recommend them enough.

“Thank you @mwholidays for making a holiday what it should be – a holiday for everyone, not just the kids.”

But the post created a mixed reaction, with some slamming the parents for palming off their kids on the staff.

One person said: "Something sad about sending your kids to childcare for eight hours a day whilst on holiday. Why eight hours???”

“These are the kind of posts that make me wonder why do I still follow you. Not anymore” a second fumed.

A third pondered: “Why don’t people like their kids?!”

Another said: “To be honest I don’t get why people stick their kids in kids clubs. They grow up so quickly and they’re at school all day. I’m at work so when I’m on holiday I love being with my kids. Not sure why you would leave them with strangers.”

However, some agreed with the family and claimed it's important to take adult-only time.

One parent joked: “SOLD. Where do I sign up??? Take my money now”

Another said: “Totally get the need for child-free time. 100% agree that your kids probably had an amazing holiday and won’t ever think about the fact that they spent most of it apart from their parents”.

“Ooh this sounds heavenly! I’ll have to check them out for next summer holiday”, a third added.
