An expert from Travel Supermarket, Emma, today discussed the easiest countries to travel to and from after the latest green list update. She claimed Formentera is the easiest to get into.
Emma told BBC viewers: “Formentera, let’s not forget Formentera.
“You need to fill in a public health decleration form and you don’t actually need to have a test or show that you have been vaccinated, so that’s the easiest country to get into.”
She also suggested Malta. Emma went on: “Actually, Spain as we know, the Balearics, Minorca, Majorca, Ibiza.”
However, she cautioned vistors will likely need a vaccine to visit some of the Caribbean islands that have opened up.
“There are some Caribbean islands,” she went on, “but realistically we’re really only looking at Barbuda, Barbados and Grenada if you are vaccinated.
“You will need to stay in your hotel in Barbados for one or two days, but you can move around in the hotel just while you wait for a PCR test result.
“So there’s some options there.”
On whether the US will be added to the list in the future, she said: “As you say, the US was missing and it’s felt the US should be on there.

“But as we know there is a presidential decree at the moment saying that you can’t go into the US and that needs to be removed.
“If we got that on the green list we’d hope that President Biden would remove that and that’s one corridor that really should be opened up.
“We’ve got the German’s grabbing those sunbed over in Europe at the moment competing with the Brits.
“I think there’s a feeling that the double vaccinated should be able to travel.”
Transport Secretary, Grant Shapps said: “We’re moving forward with efforts to safely reopen international travel this summer, and thanks to the success of our vaccination programme, we’re now able to consider removing the quarantine period for fully vaccinated UK arrivals from amber countries – showing a real sign of progress.
“It’s right that we continue with this cautious approach, to protect public health and the vaccine rollout as our top priority, while ensuring that our route out of the international travel restrictions is sustainable.”
