Already planning a 2024 holiday? Skyscanner has shared the European destinations that have seen the biggest flight price drop over the last year. 

Naomi Hahn, vp of strategy at Skyscanner, said: “The cost of living remains top of mind and our money saving tools continue to rise in popularity.

“Our ‘Everywhere’ search, showing prices from the lowest to highest from airports to global destinations, is the top search destination for travellers globally this year.” 

From leading Portugeuse beach destinations to city breaks in Germany, there’s plenty of bargain flights to be found for Britons looking for value.

Faro

Topping the list was gorgeous Faro in Portugal’s beautiful Algarve region. The price of flights to Faro has dropped by 24 percent over the last year according to Skyscanner’s research. Britons will have easy access to some of Portugal’s most breathtaking beaches and the Algarve region is also known for its golf courses.

Nice

A jewel on France’s Cote d’Azur, flights to Nice have also dropped in price over the last year. Flights have dropped by 19 percent in cost according to Skyscanner. Britons will be able to enjoy Nice’s beaches and wander the winding streets of the city’s Old Town. Britons can also use the city as a base to explore other coastal gems such as Cannes and Menton.

Dalaman

Dalaman in Turkey was another beach destination to have seen a drop in the price of flights over the last year. The cost of a flight to the Turkish hotspot fell by 13 percent according to Skyscanner. Beautiful Zurich sits on the shores of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland. According to Skyscanner, the price of a flight to the Swiss city fell by 11 percent over the last year. Tourists can wander the streets of the Altstadt or take a walk along the riverside. Zurich is an expensive city for Brits so tourists should keep that in mind.
