Flight attendant says they won’t help passengers to stow bags
A flight attendant has shared the true reason why many cabin crew members refuse to help passengers stow their carry-on bags in the overhead lockers.
Air hostess Cierra Mist, who has thousands of TikTok followers shared the detail on her social media page.
Many frequent flyers may have felt a bit miffed when unable to correctly store their bags, find space or reach their luggage over their heads.

And, according to American flight attendant Cierra, staff will not offer to help you with your bag.
She claims that this is for a very specific reason, reports news.com.au.
Cierra said online: “We actually don’t start to get paid until the moment that aeroplane door shuts and the handbrake gets lifted.
“On top of that, if it’s because you’re having trouble lifting it, you can easily get your packed [luggage] checked at the gate for free.”
Cierra’s comments are only applicable to her airline and may not be the same for all air hostesses.
The video racked up a massive one million views.
In the comments, people were gobsmacked by the news.
One person noted: “Think it’s ridiculous that you don’t get paid until the door shuts. Should be as soon as you enter the airport.”
Others said that they would never check their bags in due to the current travel chaos seeing mountains of cases piled up at airports.
And, some disagreed with her point.
One such commenter said: “So you’re not gonna help someone with a simple thing like their bags because you’re not getting paid? Seems a little messed up – it’s not that big of a deal.”
Another added: “Last time I went on a plane they announced if you need help putting luggage overhead just ask since it’s just common courtesy to help people.”
A fellow flight attendant, Jamela Hardwick told Inside Edition that she wouldn’t help a customer with their baggage because she could injure herself.
“If we get hurt while putting that bag in the overhead bin, we do not get to write it off as an on-job injury,” she explained.
Flight attendants hit-out at travellers who expect them to carry their luggage several years ago.
They took to Facebook to air their concerns after an insurance firm urged holidaymakers to get cabin crew to assist with their bags and pointed out that this could cause the crew to be injured.
