Google Maps Street View is intended for use as a geographical tool. It’s great for seeing what locations look like at ground level from the comfort of one’s technological device. Sometimes, though, Google Maps Street View also offers some more intriguing sights.
This often happens when people are spotted going about their daily lives.
It seems to have been the case for one woman by the coast.
She was snapped in a very unflattering scene.
The woman was photographed enjoying an afternoon out at the seaside.
It’s not known where in the world she is but she can be seen standing on a rocky shoreline.
It’s clearly cold wherever the woman is and she has wrapped what seems to be a towel around her.
However, there appears to be something much more worrying about her than her temperature.
Her body appears to have something very wrong with it indeed.
Her legs can be seen quite clearly as she stands on the rocks.
The woman’s bikini bottoms are also visible below the edge of the towel.
Yet above this, her body appears to be almost alien.
Where the normal-sized top half of her body should be, her form leans to the left.
It’s as though her back is at a right angle to the lower half of her torso.
Fortunately for her, it is very likely the distorted image is the result of a technological glitch with Google Maps.
The photography splicing has caused the problem due to the way the images form.
When taking the photo, the 360-degree cameras shoot multiple pictures to create a seamless image
However, moving objects often ruin the scene as they shift when the photos are taken.
It is most likely the woman moved when the images were taken, resulting in the strange photo.
She far from alone is being caught in such an image.
The tool is awash with similar photos of people’s bodies distorted due to glitches.
