Groupon launches £99 holidays to the Maldives, New York, Dubai and Santorini

Brits looking for bargain holidays won’t often consider glamorous top spots like the Maldives, New York and Dubai. But, one company is making it possible to bag the luxury destinations for just £99.

The Maldives is famous for its glittering ocean, overwater bungalows and epic white beaches. Meanwhile, New York and Dubai are some of the most expensive cities to visit for a trip filled with activities from beach clubs to shopping.

Usually, a holiday to the Maldives or New York would cost Brits thousands of pounds. Even with cheaper flights to Dubai staying in a glam hotel can cost a fortune.

But, Groupon has relaunched its mystery holidays deal costing holidaymakers just £99 per person for dates in September to December this year or January and March next year. For a few extra quid you can snap one up for £129 per person in April to July this summer.

For the tiny price – which is less than many weekends away in the UK – you’ll get three or four star accommodation and return flights from the UK for one person.

The cost of the trip is based on two people sharing so you'll need to book with a friend or partner as you need to buy two vouchers. Most trips are two to three nights, but if you bag the Maldives holiday it will be for seven days in total!

As the deal is dubbed a "mystery holiday" you’d be right to guess that not everyone is sent to the Maldives or New York. There is a whole range of destinations that you could essentially pull out of the hat.

Thankfully, we think most Brits would be happy with any of the choices – which include all-inclusive holidays in Turkey, three nights in Santorini or on the Amalfi Coast and even a two night stay in Iceland with a Northern Lights Tour. Glam visits to Lake Garda and Lake Como, Naples, Seville Ibiza and Paris are also options.

Airport transfers, in-flight meals and hold luggage are not included in the holiday price. You will only be able to take 5-10kg of hand luggage per person depending on the airline.
