HALL announces three release parties for Kathryn Hall Cabernet

Luxury Cabernet Producer to host September events in Napa Valley, Columbus & Chicago

HALL Napa Valley, one of the leading luxury Cabernet Sauvignon producers in the world, has announced plans for its annual Kathryn Hall Release Party in St. Helena, California as well as two regional events in Columbus, Ohio and Chicago, Illinois. The events celebrate the release of the highly anticipated 2015 Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon, one of its most highly rated historically. All three events will take place this September.

“The 2015 Kathryn Hall Cabernet is rich, dense and concentrated, very reflective of the vintage,” says acclaimed Winemaker, Steve Leveque. “Dark earth, black spice and ripe blackberry flavors are met with a core of tannin coming from the Sacrashe Vineyard – this is a very special wine. It’s very exciting to see our Wine Club Members and fans all over the country get so excited about the release of this wine and celebrate its style each year.”

The series of events kicks off at HALL St. Helena on Saturday, September 8, where guests will enjoy the release of the signature Cabernet Sauvignon while enjoying live music and farm-to-table bites. The event then heads to Columbus on Monday, September 10 and then to Chicago on Thursday, September 13. Each stop includes a vertical tasting of previous vintages prior to the main event, and small bites. All events include a book signing by Kathryn Hall, who co-wrote A Perfect Score: The Art, Soul, and Business of a 21st-Century Winery with her husband, Craig Hall. The book is a New York Times bestseller. Guests attending the Columbus and Chicago events will receive a copy of A Perfect Score with their ticket. The book will be available at the St. Helena event for guests who purchase large format bottles of the newly released 2015 Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon.

All three events include a V.I.P. vertical tasting opportunity prior to the main events. In St. Helena, guests are invited to taste through Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 vintages. Guests attending the events in both Columbus and Chicago will be offered the vertical tasting featuring 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 vintages and hear vintage perspective year by year from HALL President, Mike Reynolds. The style of the Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon is consistently driven by richness and opulence and the vertical tasting helps demonstrate the personality of the respective vintages. The Kathryn Hall Cabernet was the first wine produced by the luxury Cabernet house beginning with the 2002 vintage.

The Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon signature blend is defined by its core of dark, succulent Sacrashe Vineyard fruit from the Rutherford Appellation in the top eastern ridge of the Vaca Mountain range in Napa Valley. The wine is characterized by an interplay of elegance and concentration. It displays voluptuous, dark berry fruit aromas with notes of crushed lavender and graphite that carry over onto a dense palate. The wine’s intensity lasts over a lengthy finish. The 2008 Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon earned the #2 spot in Wine Spectator’s “Top 100” list in 2011, and historically, the wine has earned over 48 90-point ratings and above from the industry’s top critics with the 16 vintages, 2002-2015.

“We love being able to take this event on the road each year,” says Vintner and former United States Ambassador to Austria, Kathryn Hall. “Our travel allows us to make new friends as well as spend time with longtime friends we don’t often get a chance to see. Our Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon has such a distinct, elegant flavor profile that those who know the wine can recognize it year after year. Yet, each year the wine has a remarkable uniqueness associated with the vintage. I look forward to sharing with our release party guests the qualities of our new 2015 vintage – it is one of the best so far!”
