France has removed its ban on Britons, starting from today. The announcement was made yesterday and was welcomed by the industry, and holidaymakers.
Britons desperate for a holiday took the announcement to heart and raced to book.
Airline easyJet saw a 600 percent lift in UK bookings to popular French ski destinations.
There was also a 386 percent increase in flight bookings.
Britons were banned from travelling to France since December 18.

The country is only now reopening to British tourists.
France is a popular holiday destination in all seasons for Britons.
Company Next Vacay reported searches for “France entry requirements” to have soared by 1,750 percent since the French Government announcement they were lifting the travel ban.
For a ski holiday, France and Switzerland are two very popular destinations, with the winter season up to the end of March.
easyJet’s recent research found 65 percent of Britons were planning on prioritising going abroad this year.
The airline said they still have flights available to Europe’s major ski destinations.
And it has extended its Big Orange Sale with up to 25 percent off selected seats.
The sale also has low fares until January 18, 2022, from just £14.99.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said: “With France welcoming British tourists once again, skiing is well and truly back on.
“This is welcome news for UK consumers, particularly for those looking to book a last-minute family break or planning to head to the slopes, with low fares still available across thousands of flights to France this winter, including over half-term.
“We know that there is pent up demand with many desperate to get away this year, which we continue to see each time restrictions are removed.
“With flying already scheduled to increase in the coming weeks we will continue to review our schedule to meet demand and we look forward to taking our customers away on a long-awaited break this winter.”
Ski instructor marketplace Maison Sport was extremely confident following the lift of the French ban on Britons.
The company was forecasting a 300 percent increase in bookings over the next two weeks.
Nick Robinson, Founder and CEO of Maison Sport said: “This is more welcome news at long last for the industry, particularly for the many local instructors who have been incredibly frustrated by the protracted lifting of the border restrictions. Morzine has been particularly affected, with large numbers of instructors facing the prospect of no bookings for the next few weeks.
“It may be a case of from rags to riches for many instructors now as we expect an unprecedented surge of bookings from now until the end of the season, as the majority of customers have been holding off as they waited for this news before confirming lessons.
“With so much great availability in late winter, after a slow December, we expect the next two weeks to be the biggest in our company’s history, with a 300 percent increase in bookings anticipated.”
