‘I flew to Magaluf for boozy night out – it was cheaper than sticking to the UK’
A lad found a cheap deal and decided to jet off to party town Magaluf to live it up for just one day. Most of us plan to spend at least a long weekend whenever we get a flight abroad.
But, for Ben Saunders it was enough to spend just 24 hours with his friends who live on the Spanish island. He spent just £125 on a boozy night out including his flight, hotel, food and drinks.
That’s less than some people spend on a UK night out! Especially, with the average price of a pint in Ben’s nearest city of Basingstoke being £3.30, according to PintPrice.

The 22-year-old jumped on a plane from Stansted airport, at 12.55pm on July 29 before touching down in Palma de Mallorca Airport a few hours later. Ben, of Fleet, Hampshire, quickly grabbed a McDonald's and checked into his hotel before hitting the bars with pals.
He said: "I have some friends that live there and I flew over to have a night out with them. "My flights out there were only £20 and I found a hotel with breakfast included for £52.
"After I had landed, I grabbed a free bus to the beach, had a McDonald's for around £10, checked into my hotel and went to the bars.
"I had a few cocktails and some food which all came to around £25. I had a free breakfast the next morning before exploring some of the island and getting on a flight back to England. It was a really cheap trip."
The influencer flew back the next day on a £38 flight. It is not the first time that Ben has decided to jet away on a very short holiday.
Last month, jetsetter Ben spent £400 flying to Ibiza after work for a night out with his pals – and was back in the office the next day. The agency owner decided to embark on the short trip after looking at expensive UK train prices and realising he could jet off to Spain for a fraction of the price.
He added: "This all came about because I looked at the price of a UK train ticket from one end of the country to another and it was £155, which is madness.
"I wanted to show young people that the world is their oyster and they can travel wherever they want and can save money doing it. Everything is going up with the cost of living crisis and people don't realise how expensive the UK is compared to other places. You can get a bigger bang for your buck in other places."
It's not just young lads flying abroad for a cheap trip. One pair of mums went to Ibiza for just 10 hours. Clare Jeffs, 36, and Hannah Brown, 38, from Stockport, Greater Manchester, weren’t looking for a long holiday, but fancied a day out just the two of them.
While, Callum Ryan snagged himself a spa day in Budapest, Hungary, for less than £40. A spa day in the UK can cost upwards of £50 ranging anywhere up to £500 and that’s without considering train or petrol fare.
Money-saving Brit Callum Ryan, 22, found a flight from London Luton for only £17 to the popular city. When his plane landed, he went straight to the famous Szechenyi Baths which are known for their nighttime spa parties.
