One of Europe's cheapest Christmas markets is set in beautiful Lille – just 90 minutes from London.
The city in France, near the border with Belgium, will enchant anyone who loves feeling festive.
Lille’s Christmas market is in the centre of the two and has around 90 stalls on Place Rihour.

You can browse the many chalets and pick up all your Christmas must-haves from hand-crafted decorations to aromatic cheese tarts, gingerbread and rich chocolate treats.
There are pony rides for excited children to enjoy and often night time concerts to fill the evening time.
At the market, a giant Christmas tree will take your breath away and you can admire the city from the top of a glittering Ferris wheel.
You won’t just be entertained by the festivities though as you can also admire the stunning architecture of Lille’s 17th Century merchants houses, vibrant bars and the cafe culture.
Thankfully, it also turns out that Lille is one of the cheapest Christmas market hotspots to visit from the UK.
The Post Office calculated a total price for a two-night break at each European Christmas market city during the winter months.
It looked at the cost of: four cups of coffee, two three course meals for two with wine, two return bus or train transfers from the airport and two nights at a B&B and direct flights or trains for two.
So you can celebrate fully, the data also included the cost of four glasses of mulled wine, punch or gluhwein and four pieces of cake, gingerbread or stollen at a market.
Lille was found to be the fifth cheapest market out there.
You can hop on the Eurostar to reach this gorgeous hub in just one hour and 30 minutes.
Your hotel and train tickets will cost an average of £537 for two while two three course meals with wine will cost around £131.12.
On the Eurostar website states: “Lille Christmas market is quite small compared to some of the better known ones in Europe, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in convenience.
“A visit to Lille Christmas market 2022 is perfect to ring in the holiday. At under 1hrs 30min from London St Pancras, you can hop on a train at a civilised time of the morning and be in Lille before lunch.
“Lille is a foodie's delight with no shortage of good restaurants and food shops, so you can keep your energy up for browsing the market and getting all your Christmas shopping done.”
The market will open on November 24 to December 30.
