Inside seaside resort Whistable after Mia Khalifa said it’s ‘better than Miami’

Earlier this month worldwide star Mia Khalifa – who has over 27million Instagram followers – spoke up about a small English town.

The 29-year-old model and “most searched for” porn star on Earth shared clips of her recent visit to Whitstable.

Mia said on TikTok : "Been in Whitstable the past two weeks and I'm heartbroken to leave.”

Sharing plenty of snaps to Instagram the Lebanese-American even made a huge claim saying that she thought Whitstable was better than Miami.

Sharing a video of her plane descending into Miami, she captioned the story "Whitstable > Miami".

While in other snaps, she called the town a "proper British sea (mud) town".

Whitstable is a seaside town in Kent not too far away from Canterbury and it has plenty of beaches which may rival Miami (for some).

It’s certainly quaint and pretty, but it has plenty of fun things to get up to.

Mia herself suggested: "Go to Carters newsagents it's cultural heritage.”.

But check out these other fun things to do in England’s own Whitstable – town beloved by porn star Mia Khalifa.

What to do

As a coastal town, Whitstable has plenty of beaches to enjoy and ocean to dip into – perhaps some of the hospots will rival Florida's famous South Beach or Miami beach.

While the US offering provide plenty of space to tan as well as bright blue waters you can enjoy Whitstable's Tankerton beach right here in the UK.

The beach is long with lots of sand and jetties into the water.

While in Whitstable you can take stroll by the ocean or hunker down for a picnic.

The beach also has the Street of Stones – the geological feature appears as the tide goes out as a "road-to-nowhere".

It's almost enough to rival Miami's palm trees…

If you don't want to shop at Mia's favourite corner shop then you can head to Harbour Street and the Alleys.

This street has quirky independent shops and ancient alleyways to explore thanks to the areas smuggling history.

The shopping streets sell everything from artisan food to juice and even vinyls – which frankly is way better than any Miami mall.

Plus, if you've seen videos of the Miami jetset living it up on yachts and paragliding across the bay then you don't need to worry.

Oyster Coast Watersports lets you go kayaking or paddleboarding around the Kentish coast too.

One thing that really does set the area apart from Miami is its age.

While Miami was founded in 1896 Whitstable was known all the way back in Roman times and was a port in the Medieval era.

It even has Whitstable Castle which was built in the 1790s – you can visit and enjoy its gardens, orangery and tearooms.

Where to eat

Miami is a hotbed of restaurants and foodie cultures.

It's known for having fresh seafood as well as being impacted by Latin American and Caribbean food cultures.

Whitstable, as a beach town, is also best known for its seafood – including extra fresh oysters.

Wheelers Oyster Bar is one of the highest rated eateries in the town and you can bring your own drinks (with no corkage fee) to enjoy the local fare.

Oysters at the top rated Miami oyster restaurant will set you back $18 (£14.99).

But, in Whitstable you can also head to the small stalls directly opposite the working harbour to scoop up some of the tasty shellfish.

They’ll set you back a few quid each and be the freshest you’ve ever eaten.

For those who prefer to avoid shellfish, Ossie’s Best Fish and Chips is also highly rated.

The freshly battered fish covered in vinegar and salt is proper British seaside grub.

Maybe that's why Mia wrote on Instagram: "By the sea, Mr. Todd, that’s the life I covet."

Nightlife

Miami's nightlife is world famous with massive night clubs apparently full of "crypto bros" and youngsters in skimpy clothes to suit the hot weather.

But, in Whitstable you can down shots in… the local pubs!

While it might not quite be the same as a Floridian spring break rager there are some lovely spots to check out.

Is a weather boarded traditional pub right on the beach.

You can sup on local ales, continental lagers and wines while watching the – truly beautiful – Whitstable sunset from the windows.

"The Neppy" as its referred to even hosts live bands on plenty of Saturdays and Sundays fro rock ’n’roll to soul and blues.

When the bands go quiet you can always whack on the jukebox.

If you prefer a cocktail or craft beer then The Twelve Taps might be for you.

There are seasonal cocktails, exclusive Whitstable gin and even a gluten free menu (very Miami).

Plus dogs are welcome if you’re looking for somewhere to bring your pooch.
