A man has been labelled the "King of the sunbed hoggers " after a viral video spotted him launching himself across the poolside to bag some loungers. The bloke was seen jumping during the first rush of the morning at the hotel Paradise Park.
The unnamed man was taking part in what can only now be called the "sunbed wars" that affect resorts throughout summer. This occurs when holidaymakers are desperate to reserve a good spot by the pool.
People have been spotted waking up at 5.30am to put their towels down, forming unusual queues of personal belongings when the pool area is shut and even putting towels down the night before.

Some social media users claim they’ve taken "revenge" on those who reserve loungers by dumping their things on the floor or in the pool. But, as Jess Clarke – the person who took the viral video – showed, this bloke was determined to get his favourite spot.
The man, sporting a yellow top, was seen sprinting across the pool area. He dramatically launched himself at the front loungers dropping the towels on as quickly as possible.
He wasn’t the only person taking part as dozens of other people ran down and chose their own spots. Jess documented the race for sun beds each day with the man in yellow being on day three.
On day one, another man – dressed in black – raced to the same beds and threw his towels down on them. On other days, Jess commented on people doing a "light jog" to get in front of other sunbathers.
Some days it was children who had clearly been sent by their parents to reserve the beds. Before the pool gates were opened each day, holidaymakers could be seen gathering in crowds.
In the comments people were gobsmacked by the behaviour. One person joked: "What in the £99 all-inclusive is going on here?"
Another added: "When we were in Fuerteventura I sat on the balcony every morning with a coffee watching this kind of behaviour. These people need professional help."
"Guy in yellow put in a proper shift," another said while a fourth commented: "9am sunbed wars Paradise Park Tenerife what a sight."
Other's said that they had "never seen sunbed wars that bad". One noted that he usually leaves the towels until 10am and then "throws them" off.
It's not the first time this week that people hogging the sun loungers on holiday has gained attention. Thom and Lisa had jet off from Australia to the gorgeous island of Bali, Indonesia. But, they were gobsmacked when they woke up early to discover someone had already taken all the sun loungers by the pool.
As early as 6.30am, the duo found beach towels laid across the sun loungers at the Grand Barong Resort. Plus, nobody was even using them for hours after they’d been put down.
In revenge they dumped the lot on the floor and took them to enjoy for themselves. When they left they asked others around the pool if they wanted the sunbeds instead – just so the hoggers wouldn't get them!
