London tube stations affected by Notting Hill Carnival today
It’s the second day of Notting Hill Carnival in London today – and after Sunday’s family day it’s set to be party central.
As the largest street carnival in Europe, and the second largest in the world after Rio de Janeiro, around two million people are expected to join the celebration.
Attendees will get to enjoy the sweet smell of the Caribbean street food stalls, the raucous laughter, dancing, paint flying around and top notch music.

As well as the impressive carnival parade!
But, at some point your day, or night, needs to come to an end – and it can be very difficult to leave the area as bus routes are shut down and some stations are “exit only” for periods of the day.
As so many people trying to use their phones at the same time, it can be difficult to connect to Google Maps, the internet or even to make phone calls.
In addition to these regulations – which allow the police to control the flow of people in the area – there is a 48-hour bus strike taking place in West London.
Unite, the trade union, said 1,600 drivers from company London United, are striking on Sunday and Monday meaning that travel outside of the carnival may also be disrupted.
So, it’s important that you know how to get out of Notting Hill when you need to…
The stations affected by Notting Hill Carnival include: Ladbroke Grove, Westbourne Park, Notting Hill Gate, Royal Oak, Holland Park and Latimer Road.
Ladbroke Grove station is closed on both Sunday and Monday.
Westbourne Park is exit only from 11:00 to 18:00 and will be closed from 23:30 today, Monday August 29.
Notting Hill Gate is exit only for Central line services. District and Circle line services will not stop at Notting Hill Gate between 11:00 and 18:00.

Royal Oak is exit only from 11:00 and will close at 18:00.
Holland Park will shut down at 15:00 and Latimer Road will close at 23:30.
Roads are also closed around Ladbroke Grove, Westbourne Grove and Kensal Road.
If you need help finding your way out then steward and the police are usually available to help – and they have maps showing all of the closed stations and roads.
TFL states that the bus strikes are unlikely to disrupt the carnival, reports the BBC.
