Luxury tourism is also on the rise in the rest of Spain and Prime Minister Boris Johnson is currently holidaying in Marbella in the Costa del Sol. Spanish media reported he is staying at Tory peer and friend Zac Goldsmith’s £25,000 per week luxury villa.
Jesús Cuartero from Essentially Mallorca said: “The luxury trade is in fashion, the main branded shops attract wealthy tourists from all over the world.
“Palma is one of the main destinations in Europe to buy exclusive, high-end products.
“Luxury tourists also want Driver Transport Vehicles or VTCs with multi-lingual drivers who are willing to work flexible hours.
“Private excursions or tours of Mallorca are also a big hit with wealthy travellers.”
Designer shopping in Spain and other EU countries just got cheaper for British tourists after Brexit.
Since leaving the EU, British tourists can claim back VAT on purchases made within the EU.
It is thought that many British tourists are unaware of the money they could be saving as research has shown only 10 percent of British shoppers in Spain claimed back from the scheme.
VAT can be claimed on jewellery, fashion, technology goods and other items but not services or tours.
The cast of series five of The Crown are also currently filming in several locations in Mallorca.
The beautiful island was extremely popular with Princess Diana and she visited many times with her family and alone.
Elizabeth Debicki, who will play the Princess in series 5, was spotted filming at the exclusive Club De Mar.
The private marina offers guests exclusive facilities and complete discretion. It regularly osts cocktail nights with spectacular views of the bay.
Luxury tourists on the island are estimated to spend around 5,000 euros a day in Majorca and many arrive by private jet.
In Marbella, where the Prime Minister and his wife are currently staying, there are several Michelin guide listed restaurants for wealthy tourists.
The Boho Club offers diners international cuisine adapted to the flavours of Andalucia. A menu speciality, angus beef with chives, costs 32 euros.
A starter of red mullet sashimi with bloody mary sauce will cost a diner 26 euros while tuna tartar is priced at 29 euros.
Princess Diana is rumoured to have stayed at the luxury Marbella villa where the Johnsons are currently holidaying.
Wealthy Marbella travellers looking for a star-studded beach day head to Nikki Beach Club, a glamorous beach club where guests can take part in champagne tasting.
Lady Gaga and Colin Farrell have previously visited the club and a cabana is rumoured to cost 300 euros per day.
For tourists without their own private yacht, boats can be rented from Marbella Charters starting at 500 euros for two hours in a speedboat.
