MSC Cruises’ new ship has sci-fi bar with robot bartender that serves cocktails
MSC Cruises’ new ship looks as high-tech as you can get.
When they’re globe-trotting across the sea, guests of MSC Virtuosa will be able to kick back at a sci-fi bar.
Instead of waiters serving them, a robot bartender called Rob will be on hand to pour them drinks.
The only humanoid robot at sea can speak eight languages and mix up personalised drinks for holidaymakers.
To order, guests simply have to place their order on digital monitors and watch as they’re prepared.
They’ll be served up in custom-designed glasses that travel fans can keep as souvenirs of their trips.
Impressively, there are plenty of other swish features available on the MSC Virtuosa.
Guests can expect 3D an immersive digital art wall, and a digital interactive table that offers up “personalised galactic tours”.
MSC Virtuousa is preparing to set sail on its maiden voyage on April 16.

Fingers crossed again Brits will be able to get cruising again soon!
Currently, the UK is in a national lockdown so travel fans are unable to jet-set or go sailing for leisure.
The gov.uk website states: “The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office advises against cruise ship travel at this time.
“This is due to the ongoing pandemic and is based on medical advice from Public Health England."
“Cruise ship travel means staying overnight for at least 1 night on a sea-going cruise ship with people from multiple households.
“Our advice against cruises applies to international travel on a ship that is exclusively for pleasure or recreation, providing overnight accommodation and other leisure facilities such as entertainment venues or swimming pools.
“Our advice does not include ferries or privately-rented boats."
