Mystery as man flies to US without passport but claims not to know how he did it

A man was apparently able to fly from Europe to United States without a ticket, passport, visa or any record that he was on the flight in a shocking revelation. The passenger claims he is "not sure" how he managed to do so, but an investigation is underway.

Russian-Israeli dual national Sergey Vladimirovich Ochigava left Copenhagen, Denmark, on a Scandinavian Airlines flight. He then landed in Los Angeles International Airport on November 4 – with court documents claiming he had no ID or boarding pass.

Customs officers in LA also claim that he wasn’t even listed on the passenger manifest for the Danish flight nor any other aircraft set to enter the United States. That’s an official documents that lists the cargo, passengers, and crew of an aircraft.

According to a report, "most" of the crew had noticed the man on the flight because he "wandered around the plane and kept changing his seat". He also apparently asked for two meals during each meal service and "attempted to eat the chocolate that belonged to members of the cabin crew", reports the Independent.

The crew claim not to have seen his boarding pass. Plus the seat he was sitting in initially was scheduled to be unoccupied for the flight, reports claim. "Some members of the crew conducted head counts for their specific sections, but only to make sure that the aircraft was balanced for take-off and landing. They did not tally the numbers up," the report stated.

The incident is now being investigated by the FBI. Sergey has been charged with stowing away on an aircraft and is currently in custody, Fox News states.

According to the agent who filed the incident, the man reportedly claimed that he "did not remember" how he got on the plane in Denmark or how he got through security there.

He reportedly said he "might have had a plane ticket to come to the United States but he was not sure". A Copenhagen Airport spokesperson confirmed that a man was on the flight despite not having a ticket or passport.

They said: "We can see from our surveillance that he has entered without a valid ticket. Copenhagen Airport has provided photo and video material to the authorities who are investigating the case. We take the matter very seriously, and it will be included in the work we continuously do to adjust and tighten our guidelines to improve security."
