New £3.6million adventure playground opens in UK with zip lines and slides

A brand new adventure playground that cost £3.6million to build has opened in the UK.

The Lost Garden at Blenheim Palace is an outdoor adventure experience that kids will love.

Set within the stunning walled garden of the 18th Century Palace, in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, The Lost Garden is made up of different zones with various activities to enjoy.

Little ones can scramble around and explore secret chambers, clamber nets, tunnels, slides and rope bridges.

They can even hop on zip wires and zoom through the air or splash in the river.

The adventure playground is larger than a football pitch so kids will be amused all day as they discover new zones and fun to be had.

The Lost Garden celebrates the heritage of the country house with features inspired by the lakeside boat house and the gateway.

Special areas include The Allotment with potting sheds, oversized carrots and deckchairs and a kitchen with oversized spiders weds and plant pots.

There’s also The Grand Bridge, The Embankment and The Wilderness which has a triple zip line.

Youngsters from ages two to 12 can enter the extensive play area while parents enjoy the gorgeous park and gardens.

A special toddler zone is available for the smallest children to play with others of their own age.

To bring the project to life, Blenheim partnered with renowned children’s play design company CAP.co and award-winning Oxfordshire family construction firm, Kingerlee.

Heather Carter, Managing Director at Blenheim Palace said: “The Lost Garden really is a hidden world of adventure where children can let their imaginations run wild, with hours of limitless, carefree, active play.

“We wanted to make it inclusive and accessible to all children, so the majority of the play area is wheelchair friendly, there is a special Toddler Zone, and we will be holding regular SEND days for children with special needs.”

A number of cafes and restaurants are available on the Palace grounds so families can refuel after hours of exciting play.

Timed tickets are £7 (for both adults and children) and you will also need a valid Annual Pass, Privilege Pass or Park and Gardens ticket.

The cheapest option is to opt for the Park and Gardens ticket which is £22.50 for adults and £11.50 for children aged three to 16.

You can then add The Lost Garden tickets for £7 each.

Booking in advance for The Lost Garden is essential.

When visitors enjoy a trip to Blenheim Palace, tickets are treated as charitable donations to the Blenheim Palace Heritage Foundation and as a thank you the UNESCO World Heritage Site automatically converts Palace, Park and Gardens tickets into Annual Passes at no extra cost.

That means you’ll be able to head to the Palace all year and will only need to add the extra cost of access to The Lost Garden for those 12 months. Visit blenheimpalace.com for more.
