New St Pancras Christmas tree a hit after previous one compared to ‘butt plug’
It’s officially the festive season as decorations and events are underway in the UK.
To celebrate the season, St Pancras International has unveiled its latest Christmas Tree – this time in partnership with The Prince’s Trust.
Brits awaited the reveal after previous trees have been compared to "butt plugs" or dubbed "underwhelming" on Twitter.
The train station erects a new tree each year in partnership with businesses and charities with past trees being themed around LEGO, Disney and even the London Zoo.

In celebration of the tree being put up, a 40-person strong Pop Choir sang joyful carols around the Christmas Tree this morning.
They were joined by other festive performances from Charlotte Jane and Kayaan Lewis before being official revealed by British presenter and Prince’s Trust Ambassador Gaby Roslin.
The City-Scape tree design is far from a traditional fir tree, but it hopes to raise funds for the trust this winter.
Standing at 33ft tall the design shows familiar silhouettes of the London skyline spread across over 80 hand-illustrated buildings.
These include terrace houses, department stores, concert venues and more the design concept is heavily inspired by the 1955 production of "The Twelfth Day of Christmas" and took over 60 hours to hand draw all elements.
You should also look out for Maids a-milking, French hens and Lords a-leaping in keeping with the theme.
On social media, members of the public love to discuss the tree each year.
This week, one woman said: "My husband’s late night musings about the St Pancras station Christmas trees over the years: 'It started off as a nice tree and ended up in butt plug territory'."
It seems the woman's husband feared this year's tree could follow in the footsteps of the unusual 2020 version.
The 2020 tree – which was bright pink and sponsored by EL&N Cafe – was likened to a sex toy.
Twitter user Rachel, said at the time: "No one at St Pancras realised their Christmas tree looks like a butt plug?"
But, so far Brits have loved the modern design of the tree and the charity behind it.
Another Twitter user shared a snap of the monument and wrote: “St Pancras looking rather gorgeous this morning.”
Another added: "Oh wow, I normally skip St Pancras and get off at Farringdon for the tube, but that is worthy of a detour.
"Much like the artwork outside the Tate a few months back."
Throughout the festive season, visitors to St Pancras International will be able to learn more about the work that The Prince’s Trust does to support young people to gain confidence and skills for work, as well as pledge donations that enable the youth charity to carry out this essential work in communities across the UK.

Plenty of other festive events have started running in London this month.
Over at Kew Gardens the Glow Wild trail of light opened for action.
The stunning botanical gardens of Kew Wakehurst in Haywards Heath hosts the UK’s tallest Christmas tree – alongside musical and light creations for a festive walk through the grounds.
Hot chocolate and mulled wine flow from stalls alongside mince pies and plenty of tasty food.
Meanwhile the walk is topped off by a water show on the lake to the theme tune of Frozen.
Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park also threw open its doors this week.
You can get stuck into the wild theme park rides, german sausages, traditional stalls and shows with entry being free at off-peak times.
Our review of Winter Wonderland found that it was worth the trip – if you don't mind shelling out for a fairly expensive night out.
